Understanding Collective Histories
Following the sound of voices and words of five Anishinaabe Indigenous and non-Indigenous educators and thinkers, this website offers a pathway towards greater understanding and a roadmap for recasting history in truth. Their insight and positions inside and out of academia merge in a common view that education is the key to reconciliation with truth in the teaching of history.
There are many elements to explore, videos to listen to, and materials and resources to help educators make their classrooms more representative, honest and self-empowering. The hope is that the lessons learned can carry over into teachers’ pedagogical approach to curricular development.
